Reece Society showcases Union County author at Chamber Tour of Trees

For the first time the Byron Herbert Reece Society has a Christmas tree in the Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce Tour of Trees!  This popular holiday event gives the Society the opportunity to showcase Reece, his ties in Union County, and his literary work. The tree is decorated as the Reece family might have had - treasured ornaments and simple decorations. The glass ornaments on display actually belonged to the Reece Family! Dedicated members Haley Dyer, Carol Knight, Debra March and Burt Weertz were prime contributors with the backing of the Society Board of Directors.

The Society added images of the author Reece and of the covers of his books; poetry and his novels were critically acclaimed at their publication, and still in high demand as people discover his poetry and his expertly crafted novels. If you want to explore more, let us know at the contact form below.

The mission of the Byron Herbert Reece Society is to preserve and promote the literary legacy of Georgia poet and novelist Byron Herbert Reece. By fostering an appreciation for his works and the rural Appalachian culture that inspired them, the Society aims to educate and inspire future generations. Through events, educational programs, and the preservation of Reece's writings, the Society seeks to highlight his deep connection to the natural world, his profound understanding of human struggles, and his contributions to Southern literature. We are always seeking opportunities to bring Reece into the classroom, writer’s groups, civic organizations, and wherever poetry and good writing are appreciated.
